kids morning and bedtime routine
Morning and bedtime routine for kids
A routine is what saves you from saying "teeth" ten times. Here the list is on the phone and the child ticks it themselves.
How it works
-
1
Pick routines from the catalog
The "Me" category has morning and bedtime routines, by age. Tick, set a deadline.
-
2
One copy per child
The "one each" mode creates the same quest for everyone. Steps are ticked one by one.
-
3
Watch the streak grow
Five days in a row earns a badge. A full week, another one. The child does not want to break the streak.
One quest per moment of the day
Pack the bag, get dressed, brush teeth in the morning. Tidy the room, pyjamas on, read ten minutes at night. On Familyzap these are daily quests with a deadline. Each child has their own ("one each"), and a quest can have steps: the child ticks each step and sees what is left.
The reminder before, not the shouting after
A notification arrives when the quest nears its deadline. The child opens the board, ticks, earns points. If it is late, it shows as late, and the board applies the small penalty you set. The routine holds because the rule is the same every day, and it no longer comes from the parents' voice.
Morning and night
Daily quests with a deadline. The board shows them at the right time.
With steps
Teeth, pyjamas, story: each step gets ticked. The child sees where they are.
Streaks
Stringing days together earns badges and bonuses. The routine holds itself.
No kid account
The child has no email or password. They pick their face on the house phone.
Frequently asked questions
From what age?
As soon as the child recognises their face and an icon, around three or four, with a parent approving. The catalog gives a suggested age per quest.
What about weekends?
A quest is set per weekday. The morning routine can stop on Saturday and Sunday.
